Ableton Group Limiting during Mixdowns

IV ThinkLab instructor Brian Boncher takes you inside his new track 808s N’ Thangs to explain how group limiting helps control dynamics during the final mix down process. First, Brian takes you on a tour through the song in order to identify core groups of sounds. The next step is to take the different sections of instruments and use the Ableton group tracks function. This allows you to have multiple track outputs heading into one submaster for the group. The last step is to apply a limiter audio effect plug in to the group track. Brian repeats these steps and explains how to adjust the limiter settings based on the type of sounds in each group. He provides plenty of before and after audio references within this IV ThinkLab video.
